Youthwork Apprentice

Hi, my name is Courteney and I have the amazing opportunity to take part in an apprenticeship set up by Kids Kabin and its partner organisation The Bostey for the local community, working towards a level 3 qualification in youthwork.

Previously I've been a mental health support worker, but before that, from summer 2017 until 2019, and again briefly in 2021, I used to volunteer at Kids Kabin. This still wasn’t my starting point with Kids Kabin as I used to attend as a child myself back when I was eight, more than 12 years ago!

I love getting my hands stuck in with various activities, particularly pottery or art. As well as this, I love making plans, making systems and organising things!

In my spare time, I love exploring outdoors and have developed a keen interest in taking long walks. I’ve got a love of nature, and when you can’t find me out and about you’d typically find me reading!
