Rickard was one of Kids Kabin’s very first volunteers in 1994.  He then joined the staff team as a project worker and, following that, became a trustee in 2002. Rickard is a senior lecturer in furniture design at Northumbria University.  

 

His research interests include investigating potential methods for enabling the learning of woodwork in non-traditional workshop settings.  He plays an active role in the development of projects and partnerships between Kids Kabin and the university.
