Kids Kabin takes mobile trailer workshops into low-income neighbourhoods in Newcastle upon Tyne and Middlesbrough, running street pottery, cookery, woodwork and bike repair workshops for children.

Children aged eight to 13 take part in practical, hands on activities on their terms and in their streets. They learn new skills and then share them, boosting their self-confidence and enabling them to play active and positive roles in their community.

Over the winter months, these street workshops move into local community centres or church halls. Find out more about us in the short film by James Ogilvie's team at The Social Co below.

"I'm able to make stuff.  It's helped me with woodwork at school.  I'm going back to do construction at school for A-level.  I'm also doing food tech and sport – Kids Kabin has given me confidence in these subjects.  I've also met new people and made new friends.  Kids Kabin made me get out of the house."
