Following three years in the town, we're proud to have become a firm fixture in Middlesbrough, and with the support of our friends and colleagues at Streetgames, we're starting some new workshops this month in a new location.
Our new weekly sessions will take place in the Saltersgill area, and we'd like to thank the Sutton Centre, not only for the use of its space, but also for helping us spread the word about these opportunities among families in the local area, where there are limited activities for children aged between seven and 13. We hope up to 15 members each week will benefit.
Oh yes they did!
This great news follows a fantastic festive season in Middlesbrough, where thanks to support from the local authority's Holiday Activity Fund, we were able to host activities for 60 young people over a total of three programmes last year, most recently in December.
School holiday workshops featured creative activities and a hot, healthy meal, as well as a trip to see Peter Pan the pantomime at Middlesbrough Theatre.
Project Manager Sue McBride explained: "This was a first trip to the panto for a number of our members, and they couldn't believe they were allowed to be noisy at a show, and even shout back at the performers!
"One grandparent that came along said she'd wanted to bring her family for years but hadn't had the means, and the experience made it the best Christmas ever."
Here are a couple of photos from the day.
