We did it! The Big East End Bike Fix is on!

For the last few months, everyone at Kids Kabin, along with our friends at Recyke y'bike, have been working hard to raise almost £7,000 to hold 80 bike repair workshops in Byker and Walker this year through Crowdfund North of Tyne.

And we're so pleased to say that thanks to all of the amazing support we've received – not least a whopping 60 per cent of the full project cost from North of Tyne Combined Authority –we've finally hit our target, and 400 young people in Newcastle are set to benefit.

Starting next month, indoor workshops will teach useful life skills to local families, building confidence, sharing knowledge and saving unwanted bikes from landfill. And in the spring, the team will hit the streets to reach even more people.

The fundraiser will remain open for new pledges until January 31st, when the total amount raised – currently £6,867 will be released to us to start training volunteers and planning our first few sessions. We're excited!
